Are You a Fierce Christian Man? I Am!

One of my mastermind groups is reading Wild at Heart by John Eldredge: a powerful description of the MAN that God created on this world. I the gym I tuned into the audio book when this video came on during my cool down: Talk about a good connection and inspiration. This book is driving me to be real and be a man. More than that I feel it transforming my parenting style, particularly with my youngest son who has three older sisters and a newly “adulting” brother. It seems modern society views Christian men as nice, passive, or kind. And that is OK in its place but I am also called to be fierce and passionate for the kingdom.

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

I just finished reading The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. Unknowingly, I already had the secret and just need to apply it more to my life and not let those around me without The Secret influence me. So go out and read the book–or even better, I think the video came before the book. “Maybe you’ve created things to this point that are wonderful and worthy of you, and maybe you haven’t. The question I’d ask you to consider is, “Are the results you have in your life what you really want? Are they worthy of you?” If they’re not worthy of you, then wouldn’t now be the right time to change those? Because you have teh power to do that.” –James Ray

What are you waiting for?

This exerpt is from the latest recreational reading book I’m enjoying: Dragons of the Highlord Skies by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Brian glanced down at the altar, trying to think of some way to change the subject, which made him uncomfortable. He looked at the book, thinking it must be some holy text, and said in astonishment, “The pages of the book are blank. Why is that?” “To remind us that our lives are made up of blank sheets waiting to be filled,” Lillith replied. “The book of life is open when we are born, and it closes with our death. We write in it continually, but no matter how much we write, what joy or sorrow we experience or what mistakes we have made, we will always turn the page, and tomorrow’s page...

Elijah

Finished the book The Fifth Mountain by Paulo Coelho (author of The Alchemist). I’m really enjoying this author. This story is a historical fiction of the life of Elijah. Quotes of note: "Every man hath the right to doubt his task, and to forsake it from time to time; but what he must not do is forget it. Whoever doubteth not himself is unworthy–for in his unquestioning belief in his ability, he mommiteth the sin of pride. Blessed are they who go through moments of indecision." Angel to Elijah. "The best is the one who’s like a rock, without drawing its blade, it proves that no one can defeat it." the commander of Akbar’s military. "If you have a past that dissatisfies you, forget it now. Imagine a new story of...

What are your Agreements?

My sister gave me The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz and I finished it the same day I opened it. I don’t know what to do. This book is so good and important to my journey–I guess there’s a tie for #1 on my book list. The four agreements are: Be impeccable with your word. Don’t take anything personally. Don’t make assumptions. Always do your best. These have been so powerful throughout my life, I’m excited to apply them better to my life with God, family, & friends. Quotes of note: "A sin is anything that you do which goes against yourself." "When you are impeccable, you take responsibility for your actions, but you do not judge or blame yourself." "When you surrender and let go of the past, you...
