Who Not How Reflection: Purpose of Life, Most Important Life Skill, and Problems

I just finished reading for the third time: Who Not How I was enlightened to find the meaning of life. Well not quite but he does reveal the purpose of life: “Relationships are the purpose of life”. Closely related to that, the “Most important skill” in life was demonstrated. No matter what you’re age it applies even though hearing it may suggest that it is only for the young. Dan Sullivan (in his 70’s or 80’s) tells how he continues to do this at his age: “ask questions of adults”. I could do a better job at this. Problems, life is full of problems but they are easier to bear, understand, overcome and solve with the first two hints above. This quote from the book: “If you have enough money to solve a...

Are You Failing? Change Your Mindset to Learning or Earning

I have an advantage. Do you? I have a mastermind group. Every Monday, I meet with these 10 guys for an hour. We’ve gathered consistently for years. I wish they lived in my town but they don’t. They are my friends, my advisors, my coaches. Really they’re my board of directors for life and business. Why do I mention all this? Because I quit Failing years ago and you can too. My mastermind group offers me advantages beyond these 10 guys though that may be enough. The camaraderie created by this environment make them accessible to me and vice-versa. Recently we joined a...

I play D&D

I play D&D. Also known as Dungeons and Dragons. A long long time ago in a state far far away (MN) dad bought the D&D Basic Set for mom for . . . must’ve been Mother’s Day. It was the late 70s or early 80s and we began to play. Dad was the DM or Dungeon Master and the band of adventurers (me, my brother, and my mother) proceeded to the Keep on the Borderlands to pick up some supplies: armor, shields, bows. . . tools of mass destruction and personal preservation. Mom, or rather mom’s character kept saying thinks like “I don’t want a dagger. I don’t want to hurt anyone.” Shortly after that, the TV began spewing the negative propaganda regarding the game. We quit playing and the game disappeared. An unknown time span...
