Top o’ the Mornin’ to Ya!

TLDR: Christian men often struggle with starting new habits, projects, or spiritual disciplines due to perfectionism, fear of failure, or lack of vision. This message explores how focusing on the end result rather than the difficulty of starting can help Kingdom-minded men break through resistance and create meaningful change in their families, businesses, and communities.

What?
I was sitting in front of a blank page today, feeling like I had nothing to say. But I simply pressed record and started talking – and suddenly everything came to me. This happens in many areas of life: we struggle to get out of bed for the gym, begin a new spiritual practice, or launch a business initiative. The hardest part isn’t the doing – it’s the starting. Once we overcome that initial resistance, momentum builds naturally.

Why?
I’m sharing this because I see so many Christian men paralyzed by perfectionism. Yesterday on a coaching call, I worked with someone who wouldn’t start because he couldn’t get it “just right.” We convince ourselves that “blank page syndrome” is real, when really it’s just an excuse we’ve created because we don’t know how to start. This fear of beginning imperfect keeps many Kingdom-minded men from fulfilling their God-given potential.

Lesson
Starting is the hardest part, but only when you focus on the starting itself. When you shift your focus to what you’ll create, who you’ll serve, and the impact you’ll make, the resistance fades away. Think about the future, the evolution, and the results. And if you’re still struggling to start something, perhaps it’s the wrong thing – maybe God is calling you to start something else.

What’s that one thing you’ve been sitting on, knowing you need to start? Write it down in the Doobly-Do below right now. Set your first step and schedule exactly when you’ll begin. You’ve been thinking about it long enough – possibly even hiding behind “I’ll pray about it” instead of taking action. Once you start, celebrate that victory! The world is shy on celebration, but your small steps deserve recognition because they lead to transformation in your life, family, and community.
