Top o’ the Mornin’ to Ya!

What?
What is your trusted system? I was in a software company, small shop, 25 people. Our dev lead said “What is your trusted system?” He taught trusted systems, trusted systems, trusted systems. That’s just a tool or system or process that I follow, that people follow, to increase their likelihood of success, to increase their likelihood of getting somewhere faster. It’s like maybe a map book or a direction manual or recipe.
For me on today’s topic, it’s a place to keep stuff. Part of my trusted system is to get ideas for these daily videos all the time. I have a trusted system – I place them in my ClickUp app and they’re right there. I can read them and scan them and add a little note to them and study them before I go and talk.
In the last couple weeks, you know what’s been happening? My trusted system hasn’t been happening. I haven’t been doing it. I had three ideas. Yesterday I had a really good idea. I was really excited about it and you know what? I can’t even remember it right now. Why? Because I didn’t use my trusted system.
I’m gonna get back into that trusted system so that I have better quality to share with you each day, each morning. The encouragement, the joy of sharing my value, my trusted systems with you so that you can excel and grow in your life.
Why?
I share this because we lose million-dollar ideas every day because we don’t have trusted systems to capture them. We rely on memory. We think “I’ll remember that.” We won’t. That excited feeling you had about yesterday’s breakthrough idea? Gone because you didn’t capture it in your system.
Your ideas might be worth millions of dollars. But an idea itself is worth nothing until you put it into play, until you create value with it and share it out. Without a trusted system to capture, organize, and activate those ideas, they disappear like they never existed.
Lesson
A trusted system is any tool, system, or process that increases your likelihood of success and getting somewhere faster. It’s not about the specific tool – it’s about having a consistent place and process. Map books, direction manuals, recipes, ClickUp apps, notebooks – the format doesn’t matter as much as the consistency.
Trusted systems work because they remove reliance on memory and willpower. When you capture an idea in your system, it’s there when you need it. When you don’t use your system, even great ideas vanish. The system only works when you actually use it.
The dev lead at that software company taught it constantly because he understood: talented people without systems lose to average people with systems. Your likelihood of success increases dramatically when you follow a trusted process rather than winging it every time.
Ideas need capturing, organizing, and activating. A trusted system does all three. Without it, you’re constantly starting from zero instead of building on what you’ve already thought through.

Pick one area of your life today – maybe you had a trusted system you lost, or an area where you need a trusted system. Put it into place. Start using it. Put it into habit so it becomes automatic. Whether it’s capturing ideas, managing tasks, tracking finances, or planning your week – create the system, use the system, trust the system.
