In this video, I discuss a process for personal growth and leadership development, which I call “Grow, Lead, Serve.”
Focusing on the “Grow” aspect, I emphasize the importance of self-leadership in becoming an inspirational team leader. I introduce a three-step framework for life planning and personal development:
- Direction of Vision: Establishing the direction of your vision and goals.
- Direction of Actions: Choosing the right actions to move towards your vision.
- Redirection: Evaluating the results of your actions and making necessary adjustments.
I use the analogy of a plane flying from New York to Los Angeles to illustrate the concept of continual redirection. Just as a plane constantly adjusts its course based on GPS feedback, individuals should redirect their actions based on the results they achieve.
I also compare this process to driving a car, where you continuously make small adjustments to stay on the road and reach your destination. The GPS in a car automatically recalculates the route when you miss a turn, exemplifying the redirection step.
I summarize the framework as a cyclical process of setting a vision, choosing actions to move towards that vision, and evaluating and adjusting those actions based on the results. By following this “Direction, Direction, Redirection” approach, I suggest that individuals can create a strong foundation for a life plan and a better future.
