Hey there, it’s Brian from Life Champion. I’ve got some good news for you in this video about a valuable lesson I’ve learned.

Growing up, my parents instilled in me the belief that I could and should do everything myself, from changing the oil and fixing the car to doing my own taxes. For years, I thought I was thriving by being self-reliant and saving money.

However, over the past couple of years, I’ve realized that I’m not always as skilled at certain tasks as the professionals. When you find the right person for the job, it gets done better, lasts longer, and frees your mind from worrying about potential mistakes.

Just yesterday, while I was working hard on some code, a plumber was fixing our craft room sink. When my wife asked if we should replace the faucet ourselves or have the plumber do it, I was thrilled that we agreed on letting the professional handle it. Why? Because it allows me to spend more quality time with my family instead of trying to be a plumber, which I’m not.

This idea is reinforced in the book “Who Not How” by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy. They emphasize asking “who” should do a task instead of “how” to do it yourself. Whether it’s replacing a faucet, doing taxes, or marketing your business, it’s essential to find the right person for the job.

In a family, it’s about identifying who is best suited for each role. For example, my wife is an incredible cook, while I’m better at managing our finances. By dividing tasks based on our strengths, we create a harmonious and efficient household.

The same principle applies to work, church, and other areas of life. It’s crucial to determine who should be doing what and get the right people in the right seats on the bus. When you do this, the journey becomes much more enjoyable, and you’re more likely to reach your destination.

Remember, it’s not always about doing everything yourself, but rather finding the right “who” to help you achieve your goals.

God bless, and have a fantastic day!
