Top o’ the Mornin’ to Ya!
Today, I’m reflecting on the power of mindset and self-talk, inspired by a chilly morning conversation with my daughter. It reminded me of a motivational speech I once gave to top ski athletes at a camp in Oregon
You are what you eat,
You play what you say,
You achieve what you believe.
The core message boils down to three key principles:
1. You are what you eat – Nutrition matters, both in sports and everyday life.
2. You play what you say – Your self-talk and the goals you set for yourself shape your performance.
3. You achieve what you believe – Consistent positive self-talk leads to stronger beliefs and better outcomes.
I shared how I used to pride myself on always meeting my goals, but learning from Dave Ramsey changed my perspective. Sometimes setting bigger, more challenging goals and falling short can lead to greater achievements than always hitting smaller, safer targets.
The key is to stretch yourself, believe in your potential, and keep pushing forward. Even if you don’t quite reach that ambitious goal, you’ll likely accomplish more than if you’d aimed lower.
As I walked home, I was struck by the beautiful sunrise – a reminder of the golden opportunities each new day brings. So go out there, set those big goals, challenge yourself, and make a difference. Remember, your mindset and self-talk are powerful tools in shaping your reality.
You be blessed!
