Top o’ the Mornin’ to Ya! I was so blessed to be back at Bible study today after being snowed out last week. We had a special presentation from Mike on the blood of Jesus, starting with the scripture from Matthew 27:32-56, which recounts Jesus’ crucifixion.

As we discussed the passage, we noted some interesting details, such as the darkness falling at noon (the sixth hour) and lasting until Jesus’ death at 3 PM (the ninth hour). We also talked about the drink mixed with gall, a painkiller that Jesus tasted but refused, choosing to fully experience the pain of taking on our sins.

This led to a conversation about the nature of evil and sin. Evil is not something God created, but rather the separation from God’s will that comes from our free will. Jesus experienced the ultimate separation from God as he took on the sins of the world, feeling the weight of every wrong ever committed.

Mike also shared a powerful story about a homeless man in England who was always joyfully singing, “Jesus’ blood never failed me yet.” The man’s singing was recorded, and the repeated phrase had a profound impact on those who heard it.

Another detail that stood out to me was the fact that when Jesus was raised, many other saints were also raised and appeared to people in the holy city. This is a testament to the power of Jesus’ resurrection.

I encourage you to join us next Tuesday at 6:30 AM at Valentini’s in Hermantown, Minnesota, to be a part of our discussions and sharpen your faith in the company of other believers. You be blessed!
