Top o’ the Mornin’ to Ya! Today, I’m focusing on serving His kingdom, I have a question for you: Why don’t you go to church? If you do, great–drop a note below why you think others don’t. If not, drop a comment below explaining why you don’t attend church.
One common reason is the belief that the church is full of hypocrites. Even Jesus wasn’t a big fan of the religious leaders of His time. Another reason might be the fear of being asked for money, but giving is actually an invitation from God to test Him and experience His blessings.
Some people might say it’s too early, or they don’t know anyone there. But there are usually multiple service times, and if you reach out to me, I’ll gladly take you to my church so you’ll know someone.
Others might feel they’re not good enough, but that’s the point – none of us are. God sees all sin the same, and through Jesus’ sacrifice, we can be made clean. If a church makes you feel unworthy or unwelcome, find one that recognizes we’re all sinners in need of grace.
It doesn’t have to be church, either. You can join a Bible study, like the one we have on Tuesday mornings at Valentini’s in Hermantown. Or simply start reading the Bible, especially the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. I’d start with Mark because I’m detail oriented.
The aim of the church is to be the bride of Christ, bringing people to the knowledge of God’s story and the sacrificial love of Jesus. When we gather in His name, He is there with us, ready to move mountains on our behalf.
So, whether you oversleep or have another reason, I’d love to hear why you don’t attend church. Drop a comment below, and I’ll address it in a future video. And stay tuned for my next message on why I do go to church.
You be blessed!
