Top o’ the Mornin’ to Ya!

TLDR:
Discover how to maximize your Kingdom impact by focusing on the intersection of what you know, care about, and can influence.

What?
Years ago at summer camp, I was working in the waterfront area when I noticed our camp manual wasn’t the greatest quality. This manual went out to all participants – explaining programs, showing maps, everything they needed. I thought this wasn’t in my area of influence, but then a colleague and I decided to ask the home office if we could take it on. To our surprise, they said “Sure! Go right ahead!” We started meeting with other departments, gathering their best information, and created a comprehensive 30-page document that served every camp group that came through. What seemed outside my influence actually wasn’t – I just hadn’t asked.

Why?
I share this because we often limit ourselves by assuming we can’t influence something without even trying. We stay in our perceived boundaries when God might be calling us to expand our impact. That camp manual affected thousands of participants’ experiences, but it almost didn’t happen because I initially thought it wasn’t my place to improve it. Sometimes the biggest opportunities for Kingdom service are right there waiting for us to simply ask the question.

Lesson:
Serving His Kingdom effectively means refining, defining, and focusing on that triangle where what we know, what we care about, and what we can influence all intersect. This is where we make our biggest impact. The three pillars of the Kingdom Family Leader path work together – when we bless ourselves first, we gain clarity about our actual sphere of influence. When we expand our territory thoughtfully, we position ourselves to serve more effectively. You might already be in the right place but serving in the wrong way, or you might need to shift slightly to hit that sweet spot where your knowledge, passion, and influence align. Remember, your area of influence is often larger than you think – you just need to ask. Sometimes the permission and encouragement you receive will exceed what you imagined possible.

Apply:
Today, identify one area where you’ve been assuming you don’t have influence but haven’t actually asked. Write down what you know about it, why you care about it, and one person you could approach to expand your influence there. Take that first step – send the email, make the call, or have the conversation. You might be surprised to find yourself not just welcomed but encouraged to make a bigger difference than you thought possible.

You be blessed!
