Top o’ the Mornin’ to Ya!

Today we’re taking a break from the Financial Peace Baby Steps series to dive into our Tuesday Men’s Bible Study. If you’re in the Hermantown area, come join us at Valentini’s at 6:30 AM each week on Tuesday!

Today we discussed 1 Peter, which is a letter written to both Hebrews and Gentiles scattered throughout various regions. It speaks of the living hope we have through Christ’s resurrection and the imperishable inheritance awaiting us in heaven, even as we face trials on earth.

Our discussion centered around faith – the kind of faith that can move mountains, heal the sick, and even raise the dead. But sometimes our limited perspective and personal desires can cloud our understanding of God’s bigger plan.

We looked at the story of Lazarus, and how Jesus raised him from the dead. While it might seem like Lazarus would have preferred to stay in heaven, his eternal perspective likely gave him perfect peace in returning to earth for a time, knowing it was only temporary in light of eternity.

It got me thinking about how our will can often conflict with itself, like praying for healing while also seeing the way God uses suffering to draw people to Himself. But God’s will is always perfectly aligned, even when we can’t see the full picture.

We also touched on the idea of sanctification – being set apart for God’s purposes. It’s a daily battle to fight against temptation and keep our minds fixed on things above.

I’m so grateful for this group of men who sharpen one another each week. It’s amazing how God speaks through His Word and His people!
